Arrest Techniques – Instructor
This course will provide the trainer with the skills necessary to handle encounters that require arrest. This course was designed for the realities of street arrests. The application and philosophy for an arrest technique program must be police and/or security related. UTM Reality Based Training instructors have experience as police officers and can apply that experience and knowledge to every course.
This is an in-depth course covering topics to include but limited to use of force, position of advantage, commands and communication, danger signs/pre-assault indicators, cuffing (standing, kneeling, prone), noncompliant cuffing, visible weapons, contact/cover/movement, searches/frisks, interactive drill practice and practical exercises.
The course will also cover the following; instructor methodology, critical philosophies in arrest techniques; how to teach concepts and principles not just techniques; inherent problems such as physical limitations of students; how to set up in-service training with limitations such as, time, money, facilities and other common problems.
Also include in this portion of the course will be the “how to” in utilizing the Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA)/CCMCK and skill building exercises to improve your training.
