About UTM

Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM) was founded with a mission to produce the most technologically advanced, non-lethal training ammunition in existence. By safely converting service or duty firearms and using precision engineered training ammunition, UTM products allow military and law enforcement professionals to ‘train as they fight’ for the most realistic, force-on-force training possible.

Though the original zinc cased rounds were a success, UTM later pioneered a new and improved aluminum cased round. This innovative design completely revolutionized the industry with its unprecedented consistency and reliability. The breakthrough engineering and quality of UTM quickly gained recognition after it was tested by the United States Military and achieved a 99.8% reliability rating.  The result of this accomplishment was UTM being awarded a major US Department of Defense contract for their Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK) program supplying 5.56mm loose and linked marking ammunition to the United States Army.

Since then, UTM has continued to set new quality and performance standards for non-lethal training ammunition (NLTA) and firearm conversions. UTM products, including force-on-force personal protective equipment (PPE), have been utilized globally by militaries, law enforcement and professional training organizations. Additionally, UTM has begun offering its cutting edge products to responsibly armed citizens seeking a safe and realistic alternative to live fire training.

Ultimate Training Munitions manufactures an array of training ammunition and over 150 firearm conversions at one of two locations; Suffolk, United Kingdom or New Jersey, USA. With over a 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space and its fulfillment warehouse in Brownsville, Texas,  UTM is poised for unlimited growth in production and technology!

Across the government, there were failures of imagination, policy, capabilities, and management. The most important failure was one of imagination… Al Qaeda’s new brand of terrorism presented challenges to U.S. government institutions that they were not well-designed to meet.

The UTM training concepts utilizing NLTA are not just applicable to scenario training, but across the board to include live-fire, combatives and tactics. Their mission was, and still is, to change how people are training industry-wide, through proven real-world immersion methodologies, specifically designed to be easily adaptable and utilized throughout the training cycle – beginning with the fundamentals of marksmanship through the practice of advanced skills in a dynamic environment with stress inoculation. The system allows for cross discipline training exercises, such as integrating firearms into combatives and tactics training, to maximize the effectiveness of the overall program – allowing trainees to actually face ‘real scenarios’ they will encounter in the line of duty – not static targets and ‘virtual’ weaponry.

All UTM rounds have been sent to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for over a month’s worth of testing to make sure they were 100% landfill safe – and they are, we’ve got the big seal to prove it. But we don’t stop there; all our munitions are 100% recyclable, low emission and available in non-toxic options. All the metal scraps, shavings, oil and lubricants that we use in our manufacturing facilities are filtered, cleaned, recycled and reused. We don’t throw anything away and we make sure that what we can’t reuse is cleaned, sealed and sent to a big lab where they can repurpose it safely and consciously.
