Tactics – Instructor

This 5-day course is designed to provide the trainer with the skills and concepts necessary to effectively apply tactics in a multitude of incidents as well as tactically transitioning between evolving or changing problems. This course was designed for the realities of utilizing tactical incidents to include active threat situations, barricaded subjects, hostage situations, suicide/homicide bombers and warrant service. These incidents are not inclusive of all tactical considerations; however the tactics can be used to handle most incidents. Furthermore, our program has been developed based on actual situations and non-traditional approaches. Situations have evolved and the tactics have been modified, therefore it is critical that the trainer understand these concepts and have the skills and ability to apply effective tactics when necessary.

The concepts, principles and drills taught in this program will give the trainer the greatest chance for winning and operating tactically in various environments or situations. This programs covers: Use of Force, weapons handling to include tactical transitions and deployment of long guns, individual/team movement, 360° security concept, cornering, danger areas, cover management, cover to cover movement, contact/cover, securing visible weapons, door entries, room clearing/multiple rooms, hallways/elevators/stairs/ladders, vehicle take-downs/assaults, pinning a mobile opponent, search/arrest warrants, active shooter(s), barricaded subject(s), hostage rescue, suicide/homicide bombers and situational transitions.

This course also covers policy writing and considerations, command post and post incident considerations, interaction with other agencies, jurisdictions or tactical teams and responses, instructor methodology, critical philosophies and concepts for tactics, how to set up in-service training and constraints such as time, money, facilities and other common problems.

This course is 95% hands on and the trainer will leave with a greater understanding and ability to effectively apply tactics and instruct others in a multitude of incidents as well as tactically transitioning between evolving or changing problems.

Attendance Requirements: Law Enforcement, Military or Security (up to 24 persons maximum)

All duty carry related equipment
T-shirts, long pants and long shirts
Note-taking material

Facility Requirements: Classroom and Outdoor Area for NLTA/CCMCK training.
Two story building if available to accommodate interior and exterior instruction as well as skill building and scenarios and for any use of non-lethal training ammunition.
