Control Tactics – Instructor

This 5-day course is designed to provide the trainer with the skills and concepts necessary to effectively apply control tactics in a multitude of incidents as well as blend the disciplines of use of force, arrest techniques, defensive tactics, baton, edge weapons and ground defense into a unified whole replicating the realities of evolving or changing problems.

This course was specifically designed within the duties of a law enforcement officer, whether civilian or military and to the incidents they encounter on a daily basis. Furthermore, our program has been developed based on actual situations and non-traditional approaches. The incidents and conflicts that the Law Enforcement respond to are ever evolving and transitioning, therefore it is critical that the trainer understand the concepts of control tactics and have the skills and ability to apply effective control tactics when necessary or legally justified in doing so.

This course also covers instructor methodology, critical philosophies and concepts for control tactics, how to set up in-service training and constraints such as time, money, facilities and other common problems. The program will provide a model or methodology to test the validity of existing techniques and protocols. The disciplines within control tactics and training can be debated endlessly but a good model for training should allow for the actual testing of what works and what does not through realistic training.

This course is 95% hands on and the trainer will leave with a greater understanding and ability to effectively apply control tactics and instruct others in the multitude of disciplines as well as transition between evolving or changing problems.
